This Privacy Policy describes how MLTRZ Inc., doing business as Militarize (“Militarize,” “MLTRZ,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit, shop at, create an account with, participate in a promotion or sweepstakes through, communicate with, or otherwise interact with Militarize.com and related websites, pages, services, and communications (collectively, the “Services”).

Militarize operates an online marketplace featuring products sold by Militarize as well as products supplied and fulfilled by participating third-party brands and suppliers. Militarize also conducts marketing campaigns, administers sweepstakes and promotions, and facilitates charitable fundraising initiatives through which donations may be made to Retask Foundation, a U.S. public charity recognized under Internal Revenue Code §501(c)(3).

By using the Services, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Depending on how you interact with Militarize, we may collect personal information including your name, email address, telephone number, billing and shipping addresses, account information, military, veteran, or civilian status, and other information you voluntarily provide.

Account and Military Status Information

When you create or use an account, we may collect your login credentials, account preferences, communication preferences, order history, military-status designation, saved information, and other information associated with your account.

Customers may self-identify or self-attest their military or veteran status. Militarize does not currently require documentation to substantiate military status as part of ordinary account creation. We may implement verification procedures in the future, including requesting appropriate documentation when reasonably necessary for eligibility, promotions, military-specific benefits, fraud prevention, or sweepstakes verification. If such documentation is collected, we will use it only for legitimate verification, security, compliance, or administrative purposes.

Purchases and Transactions

When you make a purchase, we may collect or receive information concerning the products purchased, order amounts, billing and shipping information, payment status, order history, discounts and promotional offers, shipping and tracking information, returns, exchanges, refunds, and communications concerning your order.

Payment information is processed through Shopify, payment processors, financial institutions, or other payment service providers. Militarize generally does not directly store complete payment-card numbers.

Marketplace and Supplier-Fulfilled Orders

Militarize operates an online marketplace that includes products supplied by third-party brands. Some products displayed and sold through Militarize.com are fulfilled and shipped directly by the applicable brand or supplier rather than by Militarize.

When you purchase a supplier-fulfilled product, information reasonably necessary to process and support your order may be provided or made available to the applicable supplier. This may include your name, shipping address, contact information, products ordered, quantities, shipping instructions, order information, and return or exchange information.

Returns, exchanges, product support, and related fulfillment activities for supplier-fulfilled products may be handled by or in coordination with the applicable supplier according to the policies applicable to that product and supplier. Information relating to an order may therefore be processed by Militarize, Shopify, the applicable supplier, shipping providers, payment providers, and other service providers necessary to complete the transaction.

Charitable Donations

Militarize may provide opportunities through the Services for users to make charitable donations to Retask Foundation, a nonprofit organization recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

When a donation opportunity expressly identifies Retask Foundation as the charitable recipient, the donation is made to Retask Foundation and not to MLTRZ Inc. MLTRZ Inc. acts as Retask Foundation's fundraising and collection agent with respect to those donation transactions and may facilitate or process the transaction through Shopify, payment processors, financial institutions, or other service providers.

Donation funds that are settled to and received by MLTRZ Inc. on behalf of Retask Foundation are transferred to Retask Foundation within forty-eight (48) hours after those funds become available to MLTRZ Inc. for transfer. Payment processors may deduct applicable processing fees before settlement.

Retask Foundation retains legal control and discretion over charitable funds received through these donation opportunities. Depending on the applicable charitable campaign, Retask Foundation may use charitable funds for lawful fundraising and campaign expenses and may make grants to charitable beneficiaries identified in the applicable campaign materials.

We may collect or process your name, contact information, donation amount, transaction date, payment status, payment-processing information, campaign information, and other information reasonably necessary to administer the contribution, provide applicable acknowledgments or receipts, maintain records, administer promotional entries where applicable, prevent fraud, and comply with legal, tax, accounting, and financial obligations.

Merchandise purchases through Militarize.com are transactions with MLTRZ Inc. and are separate from charitable donations unless expressly stated otherwise.

Sweepstakes and Promotions

When you participate in a sweepstakes, giveaway, contest, promotion, or similar program administered or promoted through Militarize, we may collect information including your name, email address, telephone number, mailing address, date of birth or age confirmation, account information, military or veteran status, entries, entry source and history, purchase or donation information associated with promotional entries, free mail-in entry information, promotional or referral information, eligibility information, and related communications.

For potential winners, we may collect additional information reasonably necessary to verify eligibility and award a prize, including government-issued identification, proof of age or residency, military-service verification where applicable, affidavits, releases, travel information, and tax documentation such as IRS Form W-9.

Mail-in sweepstakes entries may be processed using scanning technology and human review. Information contained on a mail-in entry may be digitized, recorded, reviewed, and associated with the entrant's sweepstakes record for purposes of administering the applicable promotion.

Sweepstakes information is used in accordance with this Privacy Policy and the Official Rules applicable to the particular promotion.

Email and SMS Information

When you subscribe to email or SMS communications, provide marketing consent, text an advertised keyword, submit a form, create an account, participate in a promotion, or otherwise request communications from us, we may collect your name, email address, mobile telephone number, consent status, subscription preferences, message interactions, links clicked, delivery information, opt-out information, and other engagement information.

We currently use Sender.net to assist with email and SMS communications.

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit or interact with Militarize.com, we and our technology providers may automatically collect information such as your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, device identifiers, approximate location derived from your IP address, referring and exit pages, pages and products viewed, searches, shopping-cart activity, links clicked, date and time of visits, advertising interactions, cookie identifiers, and website or account activity.

This information may be collected through cookies, pixels, tags, software development kits, APIs, server logs, and similar technologies.

2. How We Use Personal Information

We use personal information to operate Militarize.com and customer accounts; display and personalize products, discounts and offers; process purchases and coordinate supplier fulfillment; provide shipping and tracking information; process returns, exchanges and refunds; provide customer service; administer charitable campaigns; facilitate donations to Retask Foundation; administer sweepstakes and promotions; communicate with customers; prevent fraud; maintain security; improve our Services; and comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations.

Sweepstakes and Promotions

For sweepstakes and promotions, we may use information to record and calculate entries, process free methods of entry, verify eligibility, prevent fraudulent or duplicate entries, conduct random drawings, contact and verify potential winners, coordinate prizes and travel, complete required tax documentation, maintain required records, and enforce applicable Official Rules.

Email and SMS Marketing

Where permitted by law, we may use your contact information to send product announcements, discounts, marketplace offers, new brand announcements, sweepstakes and giveaway announcements, charitable fundraising campaigns, promotional offers, account communications, abandoned-cart or shopping reminders, and other Militarize communications.

Consent to receive marketing communications is not required as a condition of making a purchase or donation.

Advertising and Analytics

We use advertising and analytics technologies to understand how visitors use Militarize, measure advertising performance, improve our marketing, create audiences, and deliver advertising that may be relevant to your interests.

These technologies currently include Meta Pixel and Meta advertising services, Google Analytics, Google Ads, TikTok Pixel and TikTok advertising services, Shopify analytics and advertising technologies, and other analytics or advertising providers.

Depending on your jurisdiction, some advertising-related disclosures may constitute “selling,” “sharing,” or processing for “targeted advertising” under applicable privacy laws even though Militarize does not sell customer lists for cash.

Security, Fraud Prevention and Compliance

We may use information to authenticate users, protect accounts, prevent fraudulent transactions or sweepstakes entries, investigate suspicious activity, enforce our policies, protect our customers and partners, maintain the security of the Services, and comply with applicable laws, regulations, tax requirements, court orders, subpoenas, governmental requests, and legal proceedings.

3. How We Disclose Personal Information

We may disclose personal information to the following parties when reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

Shopify

Militarize.com is powered by Shopify. Shopify processes information about visitors and customers to provide ecommerce, account, checkout, payment, security, analytics, and related services. Your use of Shopify-powered features may also be subject to Shopify's applicable privacy notices.

Marketplace Suppliers and Brands

When you purchase a product supplied or fulfilled by a third-party brand, we may provide that supplier with information reasonably necessary to process, fulfill, ship, return, exchange, refund, or support your order. This may include your name, shipping address, contact information, products ordered, quantities, order information, shipping information, and return or exchange information.

Sponsors and Promotional Partners

Militarize works with brands, sponsors, advertisers, and promotional partners. We may disclose certain information to selected sponsors and partners, including your name, email address, telephone number, and military, veteran, or civilian status. Sponsors and partners may use this information for their own marketing purposes, subject to applicable law.

We may also provide information to a sponsor, prize provider, travel provider, or promotional partner when reasonably necessary to administer a promotion or fulfill a prize. We do not provide sponsors with your complete payment-card information.

Certain disclosures to sponsors, advertising providers, or promotional partners may be considered a “sale,” “sharing,” or use for targeted advertising under some U.S. state privacy laws. Where required, you may opt out as described below.

Retask Foundation and Charitable Beneficiaries

When you make a donation to Retask Foundation through Militarize.com, information reasonably necessary to administer that donation may be provided to or processed on behalf of Retask Foundation, including your name, contact information, donation amount, transaction date, payment status, campaign information, and information necessary for charitable recordkeeping, acknowledgments, compliance, stewardship, or related purposes.

Information may also be disclosed to another charitable beneficiary when reasonably necessary for campaign administration, reporting, fulfillment, compliance, or other legitimate charitable purposes and as permitted by applicable law.

Service Providers

We may disclose information to companies that provide services on our behalf, including Sender.net and other email or SMS providers; payment processors; hosting and ecommerce providers; shipping and fulfillment companies; fraud-prevention and security providers; customer-service providers; sweepstakes administrators; identity and eligibility verification providers; analytics and advertising providers; accounting professionals; and other technology or professional-service providers.

We may also make information available through cookies, pixels, APIs, tags, or similar technologies to advertising and analytics providers such as Meta, Google, TikTok, and Shopify.

Legal and Business Purposes

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process, respond to governmental requests, protect rights or property, investigate fraud, protect personal safety, or enforce our agreements and policies.

If MLTRZ Inc. is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar transaction, personal information may also be disclosed or transferred as part of that transaction as permitted by law.

4. Email Marketing

If you subscribe to Militarize marketing emails, we may send promotional emails about products, discounts, brands, sweepstakes, charitable campaigns, and other Militarize offerings.

You may unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link included in our marketing emails. Unsubscribing from marketing messages does not prevent us from sending non-promotional communications necessary to complete transactions, administer your account, provide customer service, administer a sweepstakes, or provide legally required notices.

5. SMS Marketing

Militarize may offer SMS communications through website forms, account features, checkout or promotional forms, text-to-join programs, advertised keywords, sweepstakes promotions, or other consent mechanisms.

By voluntarily providing your mobile number and affirmatively opting in to an SMS program, you consent to receive the messages described at the point of consent, which may include automated marketing and promotional text messages.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive marketing text messages is not a condition of purchase or donation. Reply STOP to an applicable marketing message to opt out and HELP for assistance where supported.

6. Cookies, Pixels and Tracking Technologies

Militarize and its service providers use cookies, pixels, tags, APIs, and similar technologies to operate the website, remember account and shopping preferences, maintain shopping carts, understand website traffic, measure advertising performance, detect fraud, analyze customer behavior, personalize content, create advertising audiences, and deliver or measure targeted advertising.

These technologies may be operated by Shopify, Meta, Google, TikTok, and other service providers. Where required by applicable law, we provide mechanisms to manage non-essential cookies or opt out of certain advertising-related processing.

Browser settings may also allow you to block or delete cookies, although disabling certain cookies may affect website functionality.

7. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, applicable privacy laws may provide rights concerning your personal information, including the right to access information we maintain about you, correct inaccurate information, request deletion, obtain a portable copy of certain information, opt out of certain sales or sharing, opt out of targeted advertising or certain profiling, limit certain uses of sensitive personal information where applicable, withdraw consent where applicable, and appeal certain privacy decisions.

The availability and scope of these rights depend on your jurisdiction and applicable law. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.

Privacy Requests

To submit a privacy request, email info@militarize.com with “Privacy Request” in the subject line. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by applicable law, subject to appropriate verification.

Your Privacy Choices

Where required by applicable state law, Militarize will provide an appropriate mechanism, such as a “Your Privacy Choices” or “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link, allowing users to opt out of qualifying sale, sharing, or targeted advertising activities.

We honor legally recognized browser-based opt-out preference signals, including Global Privacy Control (GPC), where required by applicable law.

8. Sponsor and Partner Marketing Opt-Out

If you do not want Militarize to disclose your contact information to sponsors or promotional partners for their own marketing purposes, email info@militarize.com with “Sponsor Sharing Opt-Out” in the subject line.

An opt-out from sponsor marketing does not prevent us from disclosing information when reasonably necessary to fulfill an order, administer a sweepstakes, provide a prize, prevent fraud, comply with law, or perform another service you requested.

9. Children's Privacy

Militarize.com is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Sweepstakes and other promotions may have higher minimum-age requirements as stated in their applicable Official Rules.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child in violation of applicable law, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

10. Data Security

We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

Payment-card information is processed through Shopify and applicable payment processors using their respective security systems. However, no website, transmission, storage system, or security measure is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain customer accounts, fulfill transactions, administer sweepstakes and charitable campaigns, maintain required business and financial records, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations.

Transaction, donation, tax, accounting, compliance, and sweepstakes records may be retained for the periods required or reasonably appropriate under applicable law. When information is no longer reasonably necessary, we may delete, anonymize, or de-identify it, subject to applicable law and legitimate recordkeeping requirements.

12. Third-Party Websites and Services

Militarize.com may contain links to websites, social media platforms, brands, suppliers, payment services, or other third-party services. We do not control the privacy practices of independent third parties.

When you interact directly with a third-party website or service, that third party's privacy policy and terms may govern its collection and use of your information.

13. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Because there is no universally accepted standard for browser Do Not Track (“DNT”) signals, we do not currently respond to DNT signals.

We recognize and process Global Privacy Control (“GPC”) and other legally recognized universal opt-out mechanisms where required by applicable law.

14. International Visitors

Militarize primarily operates in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored in, or processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.

Those countries may have privacy laws that differ from the laws of your country of residence. Where required by applicable law, we will use appropriate safeguards for international transfers of personal information.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our Services, technology, business practices, legal requirements, or other operational reasons.

When we update this Privacy Policy, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page and provide additional notice of material changes where required by law.
